Concealment Infrastructure
Canonical definition
Concealment Infrastructure is the set of structural features, procedural complexity, technical jargon, layered intermediation, information asymmetry, and institutional opacity, that function as the immune system of Mimetic escalation by preventing the Mimetic Premium (PM) from being exposed, measured, or arbitraged, regardless of whether the features were designed for concealment or accumulated as structural byproducts of M-driven complexity growth.
Explanation
Concealment Infrastructure answers the question: "If the Mimetic Premium is a parasite extracting real resources, why doesn't someone just expose it and arbitrage it away?" The answer is that exposure is structurally prevented. Consider housing: the actual A-value of shelter is obscured by layers of financing, zoning, development regulation, real estate intermediation, and social ritual (auction theatre, "dream home" narratives) that make it nearly impossible for a buyer to determine how much of the price is shelter-value versus status-value. Each layer may have an independent justification, but their combined effect is to make PM unmeasurable and therefore unarbitrageable. Concealment Infrastructure grows endogenously, M-escalation produces complexity, complexity conceals M-escalation, concealment permits further escalation, creating a positive feedback loop.
