Endogenous-Evidence Condition

Canonical definition

**Endogenous-Evidence Condition. The architectural condition in which the evidence on which a population's Bayesian updating is performed is generated by the population itself rather than imported from outside, with the result that the evidence is causally entangled with the Beliefs being updated and the classical convergence theorems of Bayesian epistemology fail. *

Explanation

When everyone is updating their Beliefs from each other's behaviour, and nobody is checking against the outside world, the group can become very certain about something that is not true. Canonical derivation - Appendix D, Section D.4.**

Epistemic status

Framework-Specific Construct.

Derivation

Appendix D, Section D.4; Chapter 14, Section 14.10.4.1; Chapter 13, Section 13.8.
