Floor-Breach Ignition Corollary

Canonical definition

Canonical Definition. The Floor-Breach Ignition Corollary is the floor locus of the Dual-Locus Ignition Theorem: the result that there exists a unique critical depth of sustained Appetite deficit at the worst-off segment at which Mimetic amplification first outruns correction across the guarded range of collective Belief, so that the Subcriticality Condition fails and the collective crisis transition ignites from below without any leadership variable entering the condition. The mechanism is monotone: chronic deprivation downweights exogenous evidence (raising effective Coupling Strength) and drains the Belief Heterogeneity Buffer (removing the cross-Individual Belief variance from which its damping derives), both increasing in the depth of the deficit, and the operative quantity is the worst-off segment's deficit rather than the population mean's. The economic and revolutionary face of the resulting discharge is the floor-reasserting fold of Chapter 17, Section 17.5. Formal statement: Appendix A, A.5.8.7. Prose derivation: Chapter 13, Section 13.6.4.

Explanation

Push the worst-off far enough below their subsistence floor and a society will tip into crisis on its own, no leader required. The reason is mechanical: when people cannot meet real bodily needs, evidence from the outside world stops changing their minds, which is the same thing as their becoming more susceptible to whatever story is going around, and the ordinary disagreement between people that normally slows a panic drains away at the same time. Both effects deepen as the deprivation deepens, and there is a definite point — set by the most exposed group, not the average — where correction can no longer keep up and the collapse fires. This is the mirror image of the apex locus of the same theorem: the floor locus can be switched off by making sure the worst-off are provisioned, which is why Appetite-floor security is treated as a structural requirement of holding a society subcritical, not as an optional kindness.

Epistemic status

Framework-Specific Named Result (Corollary to the Dual-Locus Ignition Theorem; qualitative register, Appendix A).
