Frame Rupture

Canonical definition

The architectural event in which a Hypothesis central to the Self-Model can no longer be sustained as a True Belief, either because the Hypothesis has been incontrovertibly disconfirmed or because a previously orthogonal Hypothesis (an H3 outside the prior representable Hypothesis Space H\mathcal{H}) has entered the space and displaced the prior amplitude distribution, producing amplitude redistribution across the remaining H\mathcal{H} and opening the Therapeutic Window as the post-rupture interval of elevated receptivity to revision.

Explanation

Frame Rupture is the formal architectural event that opens the Therapeutic Window. Under Quantum Epistemology, the Self-Model holds a distribution of probability amplitudes across the Hypothesis Space, with one or more dominant Hypotheses carrying near-unity amplitude. Frame Rupture is the event of losing one of those dominant Hypotheses. The mechanism can be either (i) incontrovertible disconfirmation of the previously dominant Hypothesis (the evidence has become impossible to reconcile with the Hypothesis), or (ii) the entry of a previously orthogonal Hypothesis into the representable space (an H3 that the prior framework could not formulate, now becoming representable and displacing the prior amplitude distribution). In either case, the prior amplitude that the dominant Hypothesis carried is now redistributed across the remaining Hypothesis Space, and previously low-amplitude Hypotheses become representationally available. Quantum-Epistemology grounding. Frame Rupture operates at the formal-architectural level through amplitude redistribution across H\mathcal{H}. Source-channel implications follow from rupture-type rather than from rupture-mechanism: I-attribution rupture (loss of an I-grounded self-narrative) opens I-Hypothesis Space; A-attribution rupture (threat to A-floor identity) opens A-Hypothesis Space; M-attribution rupture (Status inversion or exposure of M-capture) opens M-Hypothesis Space specifically. The Therapeutic Window is the architectural intervention-opening produced by Frame Rupture, with AIM uptake conditional on competing Hypotheses being available in the Individual's H\mathcal{H} at the time of rupture. The Vocabulary Gap (Hilbert Collapse) is the architectural barrier to AIM uptake that persists when H\mathcal{H} does not yet contain the M-attribution Hypothesis, even after Frame Rupture.
