Individual Confabulation Cascade
Canonical definition
The Individual Confabulation Cascade is the self-reinforcing intrapersonal loop whereby valid Bayesian updating on endogenously-generated evidence, the Individual's own confabulated narratives, treated as data by the updating system, produces directional drift of the Authenticity Belief P(H_authentic) toward 1, regardless of the actual motivational source, because each confabulated explanation is incorporated as evidence confirming the prior, producing a posterior that becomes the prior for the next cycle, generating monotonic convergence toward false certainty that one's desires are authentically A- or I-sourced.
Explanation
The Individual Confabulation Cascade is the micro-level engine that drives the Unifying Crisis Principle's macro-level predictions. It works as follows: (1) the Individual experiences a desire whose source is opaque; (2) Confabulation generates a narrative ("I want this because it's genuinely good"); (3) the narrative is experienced as evidence; (4) Bayesian updating incorporates this evidence, raising the Authenticity Belief; (5) the updated Belief becomes the prior for interpreting the next desire; (6) the raised prior makes the next confabulation more likely to be authenticity-confirming. The cascade is self-reinforcing because the evidence is endogenous, generated by the same system that consumes it. There is no external corrective input unless the Individual acquires the M-concept (Knowledge Patch Necessity) and practises Epistemic Suspension. Each intrapersonal completion preferentially attributes to A or I and systematically avoids M-attribution; that asymmetry is what drives P(H_authentic) toward 1 rather than toward an unbiased random posterior. The Individual Confabulation Cascade is the intrapersonal form of the Bayesian compounding dynamic, the loop within a single Individual updating on their own self-generated narratives. Its inter-personal counterpart is the Confabulation Cascade (propagation through social networks); its population-scale counterpart is the Collective Convergence Mechanism (synchronisation of many individual cascades into shared population-level Beliefs).
