Observer-Quiescence Corollary

Canonical definition

The breadth of the Thinker's generative operation (Imagination) over the Hypothesis Space is inversely conditioned by the magnitude of the Observer's live salience-weighting at the moment of generation, such that low Observer activity is the architectural precondition for the Thinker to construct Hypotheses of low prior M-Salience, including systemic Hypotheses that carry no immediate comparative-position payoff or that are status-costly to hold, while high Observer activity pre-narrows the generative operation's candidate set toward status-legible Hypotheses before Bayesian Updating ever operates on them.

Explanation

Conscious Cognition comprises two coupled operations: a generative operation, termed Imagination when active, that constructs candidate Hypotheses and delivers them into the Hypothesis Space, and an evaluative operation, Bayesian Updating, that redistributes probability mass across whatever candidates the generative operation has already constructed. The Observer conditions its live Salience output on the Thinker's cached priors through the Belief Register's Magnitude Clause, weighting Objects (and, by extension, candidate Hypotheses about them) according to Model-density, comparative-position relevance, and status-charge. When Observer activity is high, this weighting operates upstream of the generative step itself, biasing which candidate Hypotheses receive non-trivial amplitude before Bayesian Updating has anything to score, so the Thinker's search is effectively pre-filtered toward Hypotheses that are socially legible or status-safe. When Observer activity is low, this pre-filter relaxes, and the generative operation can range over the full representable Hypothesis Space, including Hypotheses with no comparative-position payoff, no Model precedent, or active status cost. Systemic Hypotheses, which by construction implicate the Individual's own social field rather than a single legible target, are characteristically of this low-Salience, no-payoff kind, so their construction is disproportionately gated by Observer quiescence. In plain language, imagination works best when the part of the mind that tracks how you look to others goes quiet. When that tracking is loud, the mind tends to dream up only the ideas that make it look good or fit in. When it is quiet, the mind is free to construct big, strange, or unpopular ideas, including ones nobody else has thought to hold yet. This quiescence is the low-intensity end of a single continuous process (the crowding-out of the Thinker's goal-directed generative search by the Observer's continuous read of the Belief Register and of observable valuing agents) and is not a distinct architectural event. Flow (AIM sense) is the name for the state at that low-crowding end. Flow's two signature features, loss of self-consciousness and subjective time compression, are the same low-crowding condition described on two channels rather than two independent effects: the first is the minimum of Observer crowding on the self-as-observed-agent channel, and the second is the same minimum on the duration-tracking channel, since felt duration tracks the density of the agent-configuration events that are the Observer's dominant input.
