Unifying Crisis Principle Derivation

Canonical definition

The Unifying Crisis Principle Derivation is the demonstration that the Unifying Crisis Principle follows as a mathematical corollary from the Bayesian architecture of human motivation (Axioms 3, 4, 7, and 8) rather than being an additional empirical Hypothesis requiring separate validation, proceeding through the chain: Source Opacity (Axiom 3) → Confabulation (Axiom 4) → Preconscious Transmission (Axiom 7) → Bayesian updating on endogenously generated evidence (Axiom 8) → directional drift → population convergence → crisis as attractor state.

Explanation

The derivation matters because it determines the Unifying Crisis Principle's epistemic status. If the principle were an empirical generalisation ("crises tend to happen"), it could be dismissed as pattern-matching. Because it is a deductive entailment from established premises, dismissing it requires rejecting at least one axiom. The chain is: (1) common-currency integration destroys source labels (Established Neuroscience); (2) Confabulation fills the resulting gap (Established Psychology); (3) Confabulations are treated as evidence by the Individual's own updating system (cognitive science); (4) posteriors become priors for the next round (mathematical tautology of Bayesian updating); (5) people express their narratives publicly (observable); (6) others weight social evidence in their own updating (Established Social Psychology). Each step is independently supported; the conclusion, crisis as attractor state under unmanaged conditions, follows without additional assumptions. Critically, the same derivation shows that subcriticality is maintainable: the mathematics that permits crisis also permits deflection, provided corrective inputs (Knowledge Patch, institutional buffering) are introduced before Bayesian Lock-In completes.
