Consensus-Derived Coupling

Canonical definition

Consensus-Derived Coupling is the high-κ subcritical band in which endogenous Evidence (what others in the coupled network believe and express) is the principal input to Belief updating, such that ρ(Koff) approaches κc from below and f_endo is high (~≳0.6). Appendix A.11.6 Corollary B applies: shared inherited Belief produces correlated signed errors that population aggregation cannot average away; estimates decouple from Referent reality over long Decoherence Time, with fold re-equilibration on eventual correction.

Explanation

You believe it mainly because everyone else believes it. Individual sincerity is compatible with collective error because each person's Evidence is largely other people's confidence. Housing booms, disciplinary orthodoxies, partisan narratives, and status markets live here. Reality may still correct the Belief eventually, but the correction is deferred, correlated, and often catastrophic rather than gentle. Regime laundering from Instrument-Mediated derivations is the characteristic way this band is entered without detection.
