Sincerity Guarantee
Canonical definition
The Sincerity Guarantee is the deductive consequence of Source Opacity and the Confabulation Rationality Lemma that every Individual who produces a confabulated motivational report subjectively experiences that report as truthful: because Source Opacity eliminates the weighting information (wA, wI, wM) from the individual's introspective access before any report is generated, the Individual cannot detect the mismatch between their sincere narrative and the actual source-weights that produced the behaviour, and therefore generates and asserts the report in full subjective good faith. The Sincerity Guarantee certifies phenomenological authenticity, not epistemic accuracy.
Explanation
The Sincerity Guarantee resolves an apparent puzzle: if people's motivational self-reports are systematically inaccurate, why don't they notice? The answer is architectural. Source Opacity operates at integration, upstream of introspection. By the time a motivational report is constructed, the information that would reveal its inaccuracy, the actual weightings of A, I, and M, has already been destroyed. The Individual is therefore not lying; they are generating the most plausible narrative their Conscious Cognition can construct, given the evidence available to Conscious Cognition. The confabulated report is a genuinely sincere response to a genuinely impoverished information environment. This has a critical practical implication: challenging Individuals on the accuracy of their motivational self-reports will be experienced as an accusation of lying, because from inside the architecture it is experienced as lying, and this experience is phenomenologically indistinguishable from telling the Truth. The appropriate diagnostic is therefore structural and behavioural, not interrogative.
