Transmission-Deliberation Asymmetry
Canonical definition
The architectural fact that candidate causal Hypotheses reach the Thinker's Ground-Resolution by two structurally asymmetric routes: a fast route, in which the Observer's preconscious, continuously-operating sampling supplies Evidence already shaped by agent classification, so that agent-based Hypotheses require only classification, and a slow, deliberative route requiring Imagination to construct systemic Hypotheses through novel connections between elements the Belief Register has not already flagged as Salient. The fast channel's speed advantage is not a brute architectural given but a direct entailment of the Configural Update-Rate Asymmetry: agent-configurations saturate the Observer's continuous sampling with dense, action-relevant updates, while systemic causes present no comparable configural signal for that same channel to accumulate, leaving the Thinker's deliberative construction as the only route by which a systemic Hypothesis can be built at all. Under default closure-pressure conditions, the fast route's continuous supply of update-rich, ready-made candidates reaches Belief-fixation and satisfies the closure-demand before the slow channel's construction, starved of comparable input density, has completed, making agent-based attribution the statistically dominant outcome. This dominance is conditional, not architecturally absolute: where Epistemic Suspension holds the Interference Term open long enough, and where the Hypothesis Space has been expanded to admit structural alternatives, the slow channel can complete construction and compete on equal footing despite its inherent update-rate disadvantage.
Explanation
Your mind is almost always handed a fast, ready-made answer about who did this, because agents are constantly throwing off fresh, attention-grabbing signals the way a moving animal does, and your perception system is built to soak up exactly that kind of signal continuously. A better, systemic answer needs your mind to slow down and hunt for connections between things that aren't flashing new updates at you every second, so it has much less to work with and much less urgency pulling it forward. Most of the time the fast answer grabs the wheel first, not because it's smarter, but because it's had a constant stream of vivid evidence pouring in while the slow answer had to be built almost from nothing. But this isn't a locked door. When you can hold your uncertainty open a bit longer, and you've got the right concepts on hand to build with, the slow answer can and does win, it's just rare, because everyday attention is wired to follow whatever is changing fastest.
Epistemic status
Framework-Specific Construct. Derived from Axiom 9 (Agent-Based Causal Default), the Configural Update-Rate Asymmetry, the Confabulation Rationality Lemma, and Epistemic Suspension. REVISED to ground channel-speed in the Configural Update-Rate Asymmetry rather than asserting it independently.
