Observability Matrix

Canonical definition

Observability Matrix (Λ\Lambda). The Observability Matrix is the cross-Individual adjacency matrix Λ=[λij]\Lambda = [\lambda{ij}] encoding the rate at which Individual jj's realised valuation becomes an observed Model signal for Individual ii, with λij≥0\lambda{ij} \geq 0 for all i,ji, j. Λ\Lambda is structurally given by the institutional and technological environment (platforms, disclosure regimes, sumptuary norms, broadcast media) and is the target of Class 1 interventions at the network scale. Its spectral radius ρ(Λ)\rho(\Lambda) enters the network loop gain as GnetΛ=α⋅β⋅ρ(Λ)⋅σ′(V∗)G_{net}^{\Lambda} = \alpha\cdot \beta\cdot \rho(\Lambda)\cdot \sigma'(V^{*}).

Explanation

The Observability Matrix is the formal locus of the Observability Gradient at the population scale. Where the Observability Gradient names the qualitative bias toward seeing M-driven activity over I-driven activity, the Observability Matrix names the specific edge weights through which one Individual's behaviour becomes another Individual's observable Model signal. Network-scale Class 1 interventions (sumptuary regimes, platform metric hiding, the Don't Name Them principle, the Coupling-Decoherence Content Qualification Gate) all operate by reducing the spectral radius of the Observability Matrix, and constitute the fifth channel of the Knowledge Patch's network-scale formalisation.
