Endogenous Stabilisation

Canonical definition

Endogenous Stabilisation is the property of Low-Salience Pre-Loading (proper to the Caught-Desire Prior) that, because the prior's Referent is the Individual's own motivational architecture (a Referent that exists and is continuously accessible) the prior is self-confirming and self-protecting, and tends under use toward a locked equilibrium regardless of adoption route. Self-confirming: each caught mimetic pull that passes without loss is an ordinary Bayesian confirmation event; the prior is true of the architecture, so use ratchets its posterior upward, and the repeated Ground-Resolution cycles that use supplies are the same cycles Belief-Register commitment requires. Self-protecting: the prior attenuates the Salience channel through which social proof would displace it. Lock condition: once held at high posterior and experienced as serving the Individual (freedom from manufactured felt deficit, reduced felt peer-pressure, undiminished Appetitive and Intrinsic flourishing), displacement would require the Individual to gain more from re-coupling to others' desires than from freedom from the deficit that coupling manufactures, and that trade runs the wrong way. In regime terms, the prior migrates itself into the Truth-Tracked Regime through use (real Referent, continuous contact, short and continually renewed Decoherence Time) rather than needing to be reasoned there at adoption. Asymmetry note: Endogenous Stabilisation does not extend to Divergent-Path Pre-Loading, whose Referent is partly exogenous (whether a given Model's Belief is truth-tracking is a fact about the world and the Model, not only the self); that channel is durable but not self-locking and requires its Testimony Floor to stay calibrated.

Explanation

This Belief maintains itself. Every time it's used it proves itself right, so it gets stronger with use; and the thing that could normally push a Belief out (everyone around you believing otherwise) is exactly the channel this Belief quietens. Once you've lived with it long enough to feel the benefit, giving it up would mean trading away peace for pressure, and nobody takes that trade knowingly. Note the limit: only the self-referring prior locks like this. The prior about other people's opinions has to be kept calibrated by hand.

Epistemic status

Framework-Specific Result. Derived consequence of Axiom 8, the Belief-Register Update dynamics, the Minimum Installation Condition, the Salience-Deficit Conflation Principle, and the Decoherence Regimes; instance of migration into the Truth-Tracked Regime, the target state of Subcriticality Maintenance. Not an additional axiom.
