Status Valence-Neutrality Corollary

Canonical definition

The Status Valence-Neutrality Corollary states that because Status is aggregated, tag-stripped Salience (Salience-Status Identity), because notoriety and admiration are already structurally equivalent Salience signals at the status-tracking layer (Valence-Neutral Status), and because Common-Currency Integration irreversibly destroys the merit dimension of the Observer's Salience signal, leaving a Scalar whose sign states only which correction is demanded (Source Opacity; Signed Valuation Principle), downstream cognition (including I's Bayesian ground-resolution) cannot access whether a high-Status Individual accumulated Salience through admiration, notoriety, fear, or contribution. I-ground attributions that locate admiration, excellence, or merit in the Model's objective qualities are therefore reconstructing an evaluative dimension the architecture destroyed at integration, not recovering a preserved merit property from the signal. The Status Valence-Neutrality Corollary is the evaluative-axis specification of the tag-stripping principle applied to Status: Status is morally and merit-neutral by architecture, not merely difficult to assess.

Explanation

When someone is famous, your brain's status tracker does not keep a separate ledger for "famous because admired" versus "famous because hated." It records one thing: this person is high-Salience. By the time that signal reaches conscious explanation, the approval-or-disapproval tag and the merit tag are both gone. So when you tell yourself you admire a leader's excellence, or a rival's dangerous competence, you are not reading merit from the signal, you are inventing a merit story to explain a Salience signal that never carried merit in the first place. That is why status-fascination dresses itself in virtue-language, and why political systems that convert attention into power cannot tell statesmen from provocateurs without extra institutional filtering.
